Fox studio

My Grandfather worked for Fox in Ft. Lee as a tinter. I have no idea what that means but I am able to tell if a film has been tinted. Is there anyone who can explain what it was? Fox moved to LA and didn't last long out west, but the Fox name is in use today. Can anyone tell me where the Fox Studio was located and are there any photos of the Studio ?
