Food, beverages, fun, Teaneck arts stars and surprises are planned for a festive pre-Oscars bash on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 25, 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Puffin Foundation, 20 Puffin Way in Teaneck. UPDATE ON OUR 2006 FILMS:

"Premium," the film sponsored by Bergen County Links, will have its theatrical debut on Feb. 23 in New York City, Atlanta, Richmond and Raleigh-Durham. Congrats to filmmaker Pete Chatmon. For more info, visit www.double7film.com

"Binta Y La Gran Idea," a short that we screened on Sat., Nov. 4, ’06, was nominated for an Oscar for Best Short/Live Action. Congrats to filmmaker Javier Fesser.

If you missed "Been Rich All My Life," our opening night film, sponsored by the Bergen-Passaic Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, you can purchase the DVD at www.tootscrackin.com. (You can catch a glimpse of the Silver Belles arriving at our opening night on YouTube -- look for Teaneck Film Festival.)

Also...if you missed the inimitable Reno -- her film "Rebel Without a Pause" and her terrific Q&A at the film festival -- be sure to come to the Puffin Cultural Forum on Feb. 10, 8 p.m., when this amazing comic will be performing. Highly recommended.
