The Teaneck International Film Festival is proud to present a special benefit screening of "Sweet Land," winner of the 2007 Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature, on Saturday, April 14, 2007, 8 p.m. at the Cedar Lane Cinemas, 503 Cedar Lane, Teaneck, NJ. The PG-rated film, hailed as "unforgettable" by Jeffrey Lyons of NBC and an "independent triumph" by Owen Gleiberman of Entertainment Weekly, is a poignant and lyrical celebration of land, love and the American immigrant experience. Rated PG.
Funds raised through ticket sales will be used for programming outstanding films and events at the second festival, to be held in November '07. A portion will also be used for scholarships for talented young Bergen County filmmakers entered into the Jersey Filmmakers of Tomorrow competition, sponsored by Bergen County and the Ft. Lee Film Commission.
Tickets are $10 per person in advance; $15 at the dor. Check or reservation must be received by April 10. Call 800-811-2909. Checks can be made out to Teaneck Intl. Film Festival, 20 Puffin Way, Teaneck, NJ 07666. The festival is a project of the Puffin Foundation, a nonprofit organization; contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
