Hello Sheila,
Our paths defiantly crossed. My name is Carol and my brother Arthur (Artie) lived @ 443 Main which was the apartment that was closest to the playground. The rear of our unit faced the driveway and the Studio. We resided their from 1957 - 1965. I remember you as a little girl who had long wavy brown hair and wore a Catholic School uniform. I can't remember your address (444 / 445?) but you lived in the middle of the units. The kids in our court were, Warren King, Amy Manzo, Kathy Hall, Sandra Kenny, Janice & Barbara Marks and Johnny Zias to name a few. Do you remember the parties the adults had in the summer? There were several that were held behind your apartment. How about the outdoor movies that were staged in our court? The complex superintendent Bill Kenny was in charge of coordinating the films.
I see you treasured “The Fields” and the “Studio” as much as my brother and I did. The property was a magical mysterious place to go to set the imagination free. The garage building where some of the props were stored was a favorite of mine. I only wish I would have been more of an explorer and investigated what wonders lurked behind the doors of the main building before it was destroyed.
I miss the town and its rich historical background. It is my understanding that it has changed drastically and is a mere shell of its former self. Do you still live in Fort Lee? I moved to Texas in 1968 and still reside here.
If you would like to chat off the message board you can e-mail me @ wingwalker12@aol.com.
I look forward to reminiscing with you.
Kindest regards,
Carol Guilinger - Price
